Mumbai: Well, Bollywood films always offer interesting stuff to watch and often something unique is dished out for the audiences. Well, the latest to hit the Bollywood screens is a film that carries an altogether unique subject in which Katrina Kaif is to play the love interest of none other than Amitabh Bachchan. This is not new that Bachchan is going to enact the leading role opposite the girl of his daughter’s age rather the mega star has been starred in a couple of movies in which the role demanded him to fall in love with the teenager or the much young gal than him. Those films namely Nishabd (opposite Jiah Khan) and Cheeni Kum (opposite Tabu) and their subjects were liked by the audiences.
Now this film too is on the lines of those movies though all of three films’ stories are different – we cannot put them under same light but the overall concept seems to be same where a much aged man falls in love with the girl much younger than him.
Katrina has been the love interest of many Bollywood heroes in her career but this time around, the opportunity is far different and unique as she is required to essay the main lead opposite Amitabh Bachchan.
Nikhil Advani, the director of movies like Kal Ho Na Ho and Patiala House has brought this exceptional idea to make a movie on. Katrina has been zeroed in by Nikhil to play this highly unconventional role in the film ‘Mehrunnisa’. This will be a real challenge for Katrina to doll it up. Nikhil personally approached Katrina with this offer. In this film, Katrina’s role is of a 20 years old girl whose journey goes till she turns 60. Thus besides playing the love interest of Bachchan she is also required to enact an older woman in the film.
Nikhil flew specially to London to narrate the script to Kaif and the sources told that she has said ‘yes’ to the offer. The rest of the formalities will be done once she arrives in Mumbai.
